Empathize: Client History

Lincoln University was founded in 1866 by the men of the 62nd and 65th United States Colored Infantries and their white officers, for the special benefit of freed African Americans. Today, Lincoln University’s role in the education of Missourians and others and its service to stakeholders throughout the state, the nation, and across the globe is well recognized. Lincoln University continues to serve the needs of its diverse student body through a tradition of offering innovative programs that makes the college experience special.

Empathize: Client Interview

Primary Audience:

› Prospective Students

Secondary Audiences:

› Current Students

› Staff/Faculty

› Administrators

› Parents of Prospective Students

What do you like about your current site:

› There’s good information in some areas – good content (accurate and current) that needs better layout design

› Student Accounts

› Finance Information

› Registrar Office

What do you dislike about your current site?

› Layout does not encourage students to stay on the page

› Content is not consistent – some content is current, some outdated. Information is stale.

› Does not accurately represent what the page will look like on the live site. Content looks one way in the CMS and another way on the live page (text out of place, images out of place, etc.). It’s time-consuming to correct formatting.

› Very outdated. If they want to do anything different with the page, they have to reach out to the provider and get a quote to change it. It’s time-consuming and costly to make any sort of improvement
